Ah 2020, it holds fond memories for few.
But one Tory MP may beg to differ.
Andrea Jenkyns has been criticised for celebrating the one-year anniversary of Brexit by tweeting “what a year”.
Alongside this, she shared a photo of herself with constituents at a ‘Big Brexit Bash’ to mark when the UK officially left the European Union on 31 January, 2020.
The MP for Morley and Outwood then added: “Heres to a better year ahead for everyone.”
Jenkyns was a member of the Eurosceptic organisation ‘Leave Means Leave’ and a critic of former Prime Minister Theresa May's EU withdrawal deal.
The Conservative MP was previously mocked for being unable to explain WTO rules she was advocating for and tweeting that Britain should “go down fighting” as opposed to “surrendering to EU demands”.
After her latest post, Jenkyns was criticised by social media users who highlighted the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and fallout from Brexit negotiations during 2020.
