As people were recovering from the news that Theresa May tearfully announced her resignation on Friday, another hashtag was looming in the distance – #BorisJohnsonShouldNotBePM.
The hashtag, which is picking up momentum, is a reference to Boris Johnson confirming that he will throw his hat into the ring for leadership, with his chances looking pretty high. If successful, Johnson will be the second successive unelected prime minister.
And as more and more newspapers are publishing stories about what this means for the country, Twitter is going into a wild frenzy.
