Boris Johnson has been in Europe for the past few days visiting Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron to discuss Brexit and how to get the UK out of the European Union.
The trip had been mostly free of any embarrassing moments for the prime minister until Thursday when he met with Macron in Paris and inexplicably rested his foot on one of the president's small circular tables.
There isn't a logical reason as to why Johnson thought this was an acceptable thing to do other than him perhaps being a little too relaxed and momentarily forgot where he was.
In all fairness, Johnson did immediately apologise after realising what he had done but the fact that he did it in the first place is almost unforgivable.
Regardless, the incriminating photo soon found it's way on to the internet and critics of the PM were more than happy to mock him, thus turning him into an instant meme.
Is there something else to all this, though?
In a video of the incident, Macron can be heard telling Johnson that the seat he is sitting on can be used as a recliner causing Johnson to try it out.
He wasn't invited to put his feet on the table though so it hardly makes the situation any better.
