As hundreds of thousands of storm victims in Texas remain without water and electricity, some may expect the state’s senator to be helping victims on the ground.
But, no, it’s not an elected official or politician connected to the state: it’s Beyoncé who saves the day.
The Texan superstar’s charitable foundation BeyGOOD is working with Adidas in conjunction with Houston’s Bread of Life, which is working to bring urgent relief to those impacted by the horrendous winter storms, including $1,000 grants.
‘We send our prayers to those impacted by the winter storm,’ reads the tweet posted by BeyGOOD.
The generosity from the celebrity comes at the same time as New York district representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raises $1 million for those in need in Texas.

While few would dare question the support and altruism of this fundraising, many are raising the point that senator Ted Cruz does not appear to be putting in the same effort, having just returned from a trip to Cabo, Mexico.
Some are calling for the Houston-born pop star to tread her own path in politics and take Cruz’s position.

The Washington Post has reported that at least 47 people have died as a result of the freak storm, and people continue to face water, food, and power shortages.
