Ben Shapiro hires ESPN host who quit over vaccine mandate and claims he ‘uncanceled’ her

It was announced by The Daily Wire today that the Ben Shapiro-owned company has hired former ESPN reporter Allison Williams.

Williams, 37, made headlines this week after telling Megyn Kelly that she ‘walked away from the largest contract in her career’ because of the vaccine mandate. She initially specified in an Instagram video that she was concerned with the vaccine’s potential impact on fertility. Researches and scientists, including the CDC, have found no link between the vaccine and fertility issues.

“I can’t live with that,” she said in the video. “I can’t live with going through a miscarriage and wondering if it’s because I got an injection to keep my job.” 

Ben Shapiro announced today that Daily Wire has signed Williams to lead a ‘special sports series’ that will be available via subscription for Daily Wire members.

The conservative host tweeted, in regards to Williams, “They cancel. We uncancel.”

I am proud to be a part of a company that fights for our rights and I cannot wait to bring agenda-free sports reporting to the Daily Wire’s members and millions of followers,” Williams said in a statement to The Daily Wire after Shapiro’s announcement.

“Leaving ESPN was one of the most difficult decisions of my career, but it was the right thing to do. I respect people who choose to get the Covid-19 vaccine, but it was not the appropriate medical decision for me at this time. No one should be forced to choose between their livelihood and the freedom to make their own health care choices—it is simply un-American.” 

Shapiro maintains that his mission is to “uncancel” individuals who were seemingly ousted for speaking their mind. Earlier this year, The Daily Wire signed a film contract with actress Gina Carrano after she was fired from Disney for sharing multiple insensitive posts on social media, including one that compared being a Conservative to being in the Holocaust.
