A 103-year-old woman has revealed her key to a long life – and it’s slightly unconventional.

Mildred Bowers has a few secrets that she attributes with getting to such a ripe age, including her genes – and beer.

One every day, in fact. Bowers has a beer every afternoon at the assisted living facility where she lives, after she spoke to the home's nurses about it, and the doctor okayed it.

Bowers says she's in good health and has a "good mind".

She told WCSC she recommends it for all seniors, adding:

Look, there are people who don't like coffee and people who don't like tea, but I want everyone to drink what they like.

One friend said:

Doctor said it was good for her and obviously it is, still kicking

So there's something to think about when you hit your 103rd birthday.
