Baby name trends have gone through a lot of different phrases over the years.

Recently we've seen people naming their kids after Game of Thrones characters.

Elsewhere boys names like Connor and Callum have more or less dropped out of fashion.

Other names that are likely to create controversy, such as Lucifer, Judas, Anus and even Facebook have been banned from certain countries.

Sometimes a name just needs to be a timeless classic that works no matter what era or background a baby comes from.

Thank goodness then for British lifestyle and fashion magazine Tatlerwho have recently published their list of the poshest baby names of all-time.

These names have lasted for generations and although they might not all sound familiar or appealing but they are tried and tested.

The original list included one for each letter of the alphabet - here's our ten favourite as follows:

Girls

  • Daphne
  • Edwina
  • Poppy
  • Quintana
  • Ursula

Boys

  • Albert
  • Inigo
  • Kenneth
  • Nathaniel
  • Youngblood

Posh shouldn't be confused with popularity and as of last year, the most popular baby names were Olivia and Ezra respectively.

However, as the Daily Mail points out if all the spellings and variations of Muhammad were combined then it would be the most common for boys.
