Amy Schumer's response to people trolling her for wearing maternity underwear in public is perfect

It goes without saying that Amy Schumer is, by all rights and purposes, pretty much a legend.

Now, the 38-year-old actress and comedian has given birth to her first child, a gorgeous son named Gene Attell, and always one to keep things real, she's shared a photograph of herself five-weeks after giving birth still wearing her hospital underwear on her Instagram account.

It goes without saying that the underwear looks extremely comfortable, which, there are no two ways about it, is of the utmost importance when you've just given birth to a small child.

Sharing the photographs to her Instagram account, she captioned them:

5 weeks. Hospital underwear for life!

Despite the fact she's doing something seriously cool by sharing these photographs, there were, of course, the inevitable trolls.

One Instagram user said:

I’m sorry but I think your taking this whole 'natural' thing to an extreme... brush your hair and put some decent clothing on.. child birth is a great thing but you don’t have to let yourself go in return.

Another said:

I have a question... is that your front yard? Or a public area? Because I'm not sure walking in a public area in hospital pants and a bra is appropriate. I'm all for keeping it real but a tad too far?!

A third echoed this negative sentiment:

Motherhood is a well deserved gift. Put some decent clothes on and grow up. Don’t get your point. Far from looking like a glowing mother. Self respect gone to the dogs.

However, there were also lots of people supportive of Schumer's openness and body-positive vibe.

Plus-size model Tess Holliday said:

Thanks for being so raw and vulnerable about the realities of post partum life. There is so much pressure placed on new moms to “bounce back” & it’s not real life. You’re doing amazing & you’re amazing & those hospital undies are COMFYYYYY.

Luckily, however, she seems unfazed by the haters, and she posted an absolutely brilliant response to those who cricitised her for wearing post-partum attire.

In a brilliant Instagram post, she wrote:

I’m really sorry if I offended anyone with my hospital underwear. Except I’m just kidding.

Bravo, Amy! Keep doing 'you'!
