Right-wing pundit Tomi Lahren once again tried to criticise rising Democrat star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but ended up scoring a spectacular own goal instead.
Speaking on Thursday’s episode of Fox & Friends, Lahren suggested that the youngest-ever congress woman was successful on social media but not “in real life”.
Asked by Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt about Ocasio-Cortez’s appeal and her influence in garnering support for Medicare for All and climate action among other Democrats, Lahren said:
There's a difference between being successful on Twitter and social media like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and being relatable on social media platforms, and actually being successful in real life.
She added:
Listen, the American people, we don’t want a handout. We want the government’s hand off. We want the ability to achieve the American dream in a safe and secure nation.
This crop of Democrats offer none of those things. . I don’t think they’re a threat to [Donald Trump] unless he fails to build the wall.
People on Twitter were quick to point out that the Fox News show host has not even come close to achieving the same success as Ocasio-Cortez.
Like many on the right, Lahren has repeatedly criticised Ocasio-Cortez, especially after the congresswoman responded to her Twitter spat with Cardi B last month.
Perhaps she should have taken note.
