How much alcohol people drink around the world, mapped

Belarusians are the stiffest drinkers in the world - according to data from the World Health Organisation (WHO).

A 2014 report showed the Eastern European country top the world for total, recorded and unrecorded alcohol per capita consumption in litres of pure alcohol in the age 15+ population, with 17.5 litres.

The Republic of Moldova followed (16.8 litres), then Lithuania (15.4), Russia (15.1) and Romania (14.4).
