Another day, another racially-motivated incident in America. A lawyer has been filmed shouting racist comments to clients and staff speaking Spanish in a Midtown Manhattan restaurant.
The altercation occurred on Tuesday 15 May, when attorney Aaron M Scholssberg targetted staff and clients at Fresh Kitchen on Madison Avenue near East 39th Street.
Edward Suazo, the husband of one of the women targetted by the abuse, posted a video of the altercation on Facebook. It has gone viral and now has more than 4.3 million views.
In the almost minute long clip, Schlossberg is filmed shouting:
Your staff and clients are speaking Spanish when they should be speaking English. Every person in here is speaking it... It's America!
WARNING: This clip includes language which some people may find offensive.
He continues on his rant:
My guess is they're not documented. So my next call is to ICE to get them ejected from my country. If they have the balls to come here and live off my money - I pay for their welfare, I pay for their ability to be there - the least they could do is speak English.
If you intend on running a place in Midtown Manhattan, your staff should be speaking English, not Spanish.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, the manager of the eatery commented: "They were speaking Spanish because they are friends. He got mad, waiting in line for his food. He stormed out.”
Despite being offended by the comments, the manager calmly asked Scholssberg to leave: "He's a customer, so I had to stay professional and ask him to leave. That's what I did."
This isn't the first time the attorney has been embroiled in a racist incident. Last year, Schlossberg was filmed shouting "You are not a Jew" to Jewish people supporting Palestinian rights, according to the Fast Company, and the footage has been posted to Twitter.
He has also been spotted at other far right rallies, and has reportedly donated to Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
