A journalist sang Happy Birthday to Angela Merkel and it was awkward

Angela Merkel turned 60 today - and she got the awkward serenade from a journalist we presume she has always wanted.

The German chancellor took the incident in good grace, thanking the reporter and revealing that her fellow EU leaders had gotten her flowers to mark the occasion... but had declined to sing.
