September is finally here and although the last few vestiges of sunshine cling to the UK, winter is coming.

Some areas - like Scotland for example - have to deal with torrential rain regularly, and a weather warning yesterday spoke of strong winds hitting Glasgow.

The warning said nothing about giant ducks, however.

A yellow duck from a Peter Vardy CarStore near Braehead decided to go swimming was dislodged yesterday from its stand by strong winds and ended up on the road, where several people have filmed it.

The duck, pictured below, seems to have been at the front of the car dealership for a few weeks.

Yes, there was a huge, inflatable yellow duck bouncing around Glasgow.

It's probably best to give it a wide berth.

Mark Duncan, an onlooker, captured it on video:

The video has been viewed almost 100,000 times in just a few hours, and people are alternating between amusement and confusion.

According to a worker in Buchanan bus station, in Glasgow, travel hadn't been disrupted due to the duck.

First it's ducks; then, it's the rest of the birds.

A spokesperson for Peter Vardy Glasgow spoke to indy100:

I can confirm that our duck escaped at the weekend. However it is now safe back in the CarStore.
