Trump supporters are furious with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson over his election endorsement

Unprecedented times lead to unprecedented measures.

Which is why Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson decided to break with his habit of not talking about politics this weekend.

In a video posted to his social media platforms, the actor announced he’d decided to endorse Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the upcoming US election.

The clip begins with The Rock addressing the camera, saying:

Endorsing] is something that I’ve certainly not done in the past, so I’m gonna go big. You guys know me: if I go, I go big.

As a registered independent for years now with centrist ideologies, I do feel that vice president Biden and senator Harris are the best choice to lead our country, and I am endorsing them to become president and vice president of our united states. 

The seven-minute clip then shows the actor sitting down with Biden and Harris to have a “great and extremely productive conversation”.

But not everyone is happy about The Rock’s decision.

The Rock’s giant fanbase includes a large swathe of conservatives.

And the Trump supporters among them are displeased at his announcement.

In fact, they’re furious.

They’re accusing him of being “afraid” of Trump.

And just “wanting to keep his career in Hollywood”.

Some Trump-supporting Republicans are trying to claim The Rock’s decision is unfair because he didn’t sit down with the president to make an “informed decision”.

As the president hasn’t had four years to show everyone exactly what he’s about.

They’ve decided The Rock is “phony” and that somehow his decision is linked to… China?

However, some ex-Trump voters welcomed The Rock’s choice.

Perhaps others should take heed...
