Japan, home of some of the earliest cat cafés, is melting hearts once more with a touching tribute to a station cat that died earlier this week.
According to Tokyo locals, the cat may have frequented the area, in particular Fudō-mae and Meguro Station, where he used to "deal" with the rats that scuttled along the tracks.
Grateful commuters left cat food, milk and flowers as tribute for the cat that passed away.
Japan has a habit of mourning the passing of its furry friends, as was the case when Tama, Kishi stop’s stationmaster, died in 2015.
