For those of us who only date one gender, there's a whole lot we're missing out on. Cis-gendered, straight women, for example, might never know what it's like to date a woman.

There are a lot of differences between dating a woman and a man, according to bisexuals who shared their thoughts and experiences on reddit.

Here are the biggest differences between the sexes.

The sex

Women's kisses are completely different to men's. Sex with women seems less climax oriented.

I am a woman who has dated both men and women. In general sex with women is more varied, tends to last longer and everyone orgasms 5-10 times. Sex with men tends to be more penis focused.

The dating

Women like to play more games than men. Men are more direct. If a guy wants to have sex, he is not afraid to let you know it. If something bothers a guy, you will find out about it, trust me.

Flirting with girls is so much harder (as a girl at least).

Bi male here. 50,000 times harder to have sex with women than to have sex with men.

When I was younger (17-20), I found boys awkward to date because they had these gender role expectations and assumptions that I found really uncomfortable. Like they had a Girlfriend Slot and because I happened to be female and close enough to willing, they tried to shove me into it. I didn't feel like they saw me as a person. Women felt much more natural to date for that reason because we were treating each other like equals.

Male here who has dated both men and women. One thing I've noticed is that when dating women in heterosexual relationships, men will give up in disagreements. Especially if they are minor.

The body

Women are softer, physically -- not just with regards to, you know, boobs and stuff, but also just their skin in general. All that moisturising pays off. All you want to do is touch 'em.

I once dated a guy who naturally had absurdly soft skin, and it was weird but extremely pleasant.

Women are just beautiful beings. I believe breasts and vaginas look far more attractive than a penis. Women's skin is soft and their bodies are more fragile.

Men are attractive to me because of their masculinity. From thin to muscular they have lines on their bodies. The soft skin is exchanged for little things that are the essence of men like leg hair.

It's a lot less embarrassing getting caught on the red when you're staying over at a girl's place early on in the relationship than when you're staying with a guy.

'Oh, right. Is that... normal?' as opposed to 'Top drawer in the bathroom, take your pick. Do you need a change of pants too?'
