Your wedding day is allegedly the best day of your life. What could top having your loved ones around you, cake on-tap, and looking a million dollars?

Enter Tom Hanks.

Bride Elizabeth and groom Ryan were having their photos taken in Central Park in New York when Hanks jogged past, introduced himself, wished them good luck and had a few pictures taken with them.

The shocked bride and groom invited Hanks to the wedding reception. While he said he had a dinner date for the evening, the 60-year-old did joke that he is an ordained minister so if "the guy cancels, let me know".

Meg Miller, the wedding photographer who captured the moment, told indy100:

A guy on a jog started to slow down near the couple, he leaned in close as he took off his hat and sunglasses and said, 'Hi, I am Tom Hanks' while reaching out to shake the grooms hand.

Hanks, whose starring roles include Forrest Gump and Captain Phillips, took a selfie with the couple and the flower girl and page boy, before dashing off.

"He asked their names and wished them congratulations, and before he left he asked to take a selfie with them," Miller said. "He posted it within minutes to his Instagram, Twitter and Facebook."
