For those of us who struggle to make much more than our beds in one day, earning $1m dollars in 24 hours may seem a little incomprehensible. And – get ready for your mind to be blown – imagine earning that much from soap.
Pharmacist Danielle Di Pilla created a soap made of fresh goat’s milk to help her customers with skin conditions such as eczema. And she’s just sold $1m worth to China over the space of 24 hours, selling more than 350,000 units of her products.
Di Pilla used a discount chain in Australia – where she lives – to access the Chinese market. Pilla’s luck day was actually Singles Day – an unofficial holiday-turned-shopping-event for China’s singletons on dedicated website Alibaba, News.com.au reports.
After spotting a gap in the market, Pilla came up with her idea in 2011. She now has around 12 employees, and has expanded her range to include 40 skincare products.
