We love Walt Disney movies as much as the next person, but somehow a line from The Lion King seems like something you might cringe at when you open up your high school yearbook in 30 years’ time.
Enter Maxwell Barrett. The 18 year old from New Jersey used a quote as hilarious as it was poignant for his high school legacy, quipping, “Of course I dress well, I didn’t spend all that time in the closet for nothing.”
Somebody give this guy a medal.
Barrett's yearbook entry is reminiscent of Caitlyn Cannon’s senior yearbook quote last month which managed to beautifully lampoon both gay prejudice and sexism in one earth shattering sentence:
Both posts went viral on social media as people around the world shared the pictures in an outpouring of support for the gay teens.
If there’s a growing trend for LGBT teenagers to celebrate and share their identities as part of their high school legacy, we are 100 per cent on board.
Applause all round.
