When this little girl was racially abused for dressing up as Elsa the public responded wonderfully

A young girl has received support from across the globe after it emerged that she was racially abused after dressing up as 'Frozen' character Princess Elsa.

Samara Muir, 3, was with her mother Rachel at a Disney-themed event at a shopping centre in Melbourne earlier this month when the attack happened.

The pair had been queuing for a children's snow pit for more than two hours when a mother and her two daughters in front of them began the verbal abuse.

The woman turned around and told Samara she did not understand why she was "dressed up for because Queen Elsa isn’t black". When Rachel enquired what she meant by her comment, she said one of the woman's daughters "screwed up her face, pointed at Samara and said 'you’re black and black is ugly'".

She added in a post on Facebook: "Racism is alive and well in the next generation."

"When I asked why she didn’t want to go, she pointed at the skin on her arm and asked why she was black," Muir added.

However, after news of the attack spread, the city of Melbourne, Australia as a whole, and people from across the world have responded wonderfully.

As a result, Rachel explained: "She is back to her proud, beautiful Aboriginal self."
