Birthdays are made for surprises.
Especially when there are multiple surprises and they are exactly what you asked for.
That’s precisely what happened for Ivena Smailes’ 105th birthday on Wednesday in Addison Curt Care Home in Gateshead, the Tyne and Wear Chronicle reported.
What had she asked for?
Debra Carter, Ivena’s care home case worker, said:
On her bucket list this year she wanted a cake delivered by a fireman with tattoos...
Challenge accepted.
The goodly firefighters of Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service obliged, and one of them climbed through the third floor window to present her with cake.
Ivena spent the day celebrating with her family and the tattooed men of the local fire service. Apparently they even fought over who got to climb through the window and deliver her present...
