The charts which show that the British public agree with Corbyn more than you'd think

Jeremy Corbyn is riding high in the polls and new YouGov survey data has shown that a majority of UK adults agree with some of his key policies.

The Labour leadership candidate has pledged to renationalise the railways and energy companies.

New polling data has shown that a majority of 1,707 British adults, surveyed by YouGov between 4 and 5 August, supported this policy.

Only 17 per cent opposed renationalising the railways and energy companies.

Andy Burnham has also joined Corbyn in his pledge to renationalise the railways, denying that it is a policy formed in reaction to Corbyn's success.

He says the policy has broad appeal across all parties and that his proposal for the railways would "finance itself."

Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn has also pledged to increase the minimum wage to £10 per hour, a policy which 61 per cent of UK adults support.

Only five per cent of those surveyed strongly opposed this policy.

Corbyn labelled the New Living Wage unveiled in the most recent Conservative Budget as "political trickery". He said that, in comparison, his £10 a hour policy represents a "genuine living wage."

At the last election the Greens suggested increasing the top tax rate to 60p for people earning more than £150,000 a year.

Interestingly only 23 per cent of the country oppose this policy, and a majority support it.

Corbyn said last month that he wanted to bring a 50p tax rate - less than 60p - for those earning over £150,000.

He also said, however, that he could raise it higher if there was a public appetite for it – which this data suggests.
