Comedian Ricky Gervais brings the funny to everything he does, from onscreen performances to hosting the 2020 Golden Globes. Now, he is celebrating the 93rd Academy Awards in true fashion— by poking fun at being snubbed by it.

Gervais took to Twitter on Sunday evening to claim that he hadn’t been invited to this year’s Oscars ceremony, and suggested his live-wire near-the-knuckle remarks are just too spicy for the Academy.

He reshared his now infamous speech from the 2020 Golden Globes, in which he came for the “perverts” in the audience and joking about Felicity Huffman’s college admissions scandal.

“It’s The Oscars tonight! I wasn’t invited. Was it something I said?” (laughing crying face).

It’s safe to say at last year’s Golden Globes, Gervais didn’t hesitate to put everyone on blast.

“Al Pacino , Robert Di Nero, Baby Yoda - I mean Joe Pesci… I love you man, don’t have me whacked,” said Gervais in the monologue.

He also made fun of Leonardo DiCaprio’s dating choices with a reference to the mega-long movie Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

“Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere, and by the end, his date was too old for him,”

He added “Even Prince Andrew is like, ‘Come on, mate, you’re nearly 50, son.’”
