Thinking of asking Michelle Obama an inappropriate question? Think again.
The former first lady dished up a fiery response when probed on her sex life by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
The Becoming writer appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday to promote her new Netflix show Waffles + Mochi, which launched on the streaming service the same day.
Kimmel seized the opportunity to refer back to a conversation they’d had during her book tour in Washington. He reminded her that he’d asked whether on the night that Osama Bin Laden was killed by SEAL Team Six, “at your husband’s order”, the pair had “made love” to “celebrate”.
Obama responded with raised eyebrows: “I have to tell your audience that, for some very sick reason, you’re very obsessed with this portion of that major historical event.
“In a way that no one else… No one, in the history of all the conversations I’ve had, has anybody drilled down on this particular point like you, Jimmy Kimmel.
“So I turn that back on you,” she said, laughing.
After Kimmel joked that it is “my version of self-reflection”, Obama continued: “That’s what you want to know. You’re still that little boy in the bedroom under the cover with the flashlight, going ‘I hope nobody sees me.’
“I’m still pleading the fifth on that one.”
Not only has Kimmel now asked Obama the deeply personal question two times, he also asked her husband Barack to spill the beans when he appeared on his show in November to promote his book, A Promised Land.
The ex-presindent replied, unphased: “I suspect that she was asleep, because the truth of the matter is, most of the time, by the time I was done working, she’d be snoozing. Michelle goes to bed around nine o’clock.”
Classy as ever, Obamas.
