In a wonderfully full-circle fashion, the woman who gave birth to “hot girl summer” via the hit song has officially made summertime history: Megan Thee Stallion is officially the first female rapper to become a Sports Illustrated cover girl — and on the illustrious Summer Swimsuit issue, no less.

On Monday, Sports Illustrated revealed that the 26-year-old is one of three to appear on its 2021 swimsuit covers. Starring alongside the “Body” singer are tennis star Naomi Osaka and transgender model Leyna Bloom — each with their own, uniquely beautiful, set of images.

What’s more, Megan is not just the first rapper, but only the second singer to make it onto the sports magazine’s cover. Beyoncé was the first, having posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2007.

Megan shared her cover to Instagram, calling the experience a “dream come true.”

“Thee first female rapper on the cover of @si_swimsuit,” she captioned the photo, attaching crying face emojis (used to signify crying of joy). “I want to thank all the strong women in my life who inspired me to love my body and live my best hot girl life. It means the world to me to be on this cover.”

Megan’s fans are over the moon, and are passionately praising the rapper — as well as the beautiful pictures in the magazine — all over Twitter.

One thing’s for sure: Hot Girl Summer is now even hotter.
