Martha Stewart changed the colors of some of her Emmy Awards: ‘Cuter in silver’

TV personality and cook Martha Stewart mentioned that she has custom-made Emmy statues that are silver. But the people behind the prominent TV academy weren’t the fondest of the maven’s choice to switch up the style from the traditional golden statues.

Appearing on Wednesday’s episode of MTV’s Cribs, Stewart gave a tour of her 156-acre property in Katonah, New York. There are seven houses on the huge property, 150 chickens, and “too many geese,” similar to a farm.

Once inside, Stewart’s house is something out of an interior decoration dream. The kitchen looks similar to a restaurant, but there are several perfectly polished, silver cookware hanging.

Her dining room, which is fashioned in neutral colors, looks like a chic private room to eat, chat and relax.

She also has a room in the house that transports you into a fresh field of lush greenery.

Another room in the estate has a table that showcases her Emmy Awards, some of which are silver, while the rest are gold.

“I like silver better than gold, so I have some of these in silver,” she said in her Cribs tour.

She added that the “Emmy people” were pleased, but she thinks the awards are “kind of cuter in silver.”

Stewart received her first Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for hosting her show, Martha Stewart Living, which was centered around lifestyle content.

On the recent episode of MTV’s Cribs, she noted that her first Emmy nomination is one of the statues she decided to get in silver.

The show lasted for 11 years as Stewart received a five-month sentence to a minimum-security prison for financial crimes.

When Stewart got out of prison, she began presenting The Martha Stewart Show from 2005 to 2012. The most recent Daytime Emmy she received from a variety conversation show back in 2011.

Since then, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy to host Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party in 2017, one of the most iconic collaborations.

In February, Steward told Harper’s Bazaar that she was asked to host Saturday Night Live after she got out of prison, but her former probation officer was against it.

“That really pissed me off because I would have loved to have hosted ‘Saturday Night Live.‘ I’d like that on my résumé,” she told the publication.

She also mentioned that it was her “only big regret.”

But you know what they say, “you can achieve anything you want.” So maybe an appearance on SNL is still in the making.
