Off duty police officer Mikaela Kellner tackled a would be thief when he tried to steal her friend's mobile phone, all while wearing a bikini.
The internet has been calling this the 'arrest of the year' after pictures emerged which showed Kellner was wearing a bikini when she chased and ultimately took down the shocked the thief.
Kellner and her friends were sunbathing in RÃ¥lambshovsparken, Stockholm, when the man approached on the pretext of selling magazines.
It was only after he left that Kellner's friends realised her phone was missing. Unperturbed by her lack of protective wear, Kellner gave chase and tackled the thief to the ground.
She then posted the photo to her Instagram account:
In the caption Kellner warned others to beware of pickpockets and look after their valuables. Commenting on her unofficial uniform Kellner said (translated):
My first intervention while wearing a bikini during my 11 years as a police officer!! Pretty fun and pleasant, I must say 😂😂
Speaking to the Local, Kellner explained that her outfit wasn't going to get in the way of doing her job.
I just acted on instinct and didn't think about it so much until after we had pinned him down. When I sat there I looked over at our other two friends who are not police officers and realized that it probably looked pretty funny. But I would have stepped in no matter my outfit.
