London taxi drivers consider city-wide ban for foul-mouthed ex-Tory MP

Taxi drivers are to consider refusing to allow former cabinet minister David Mellor into their cabs after he was recorded launching an expletive-ridden tirade.

Mr Mellor called a driver a “sweaty, stupid little s* during a row about the route he wanted to take following a visit to Buckingham Palace with his partner, who had been awarded a CBE. Unions representing taxi drivers said it had echoes of the Plebgate row.

Mick Cash, general secretary of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, said:

It is no surprise that our black-cab members across London are considering a boycott of the Tory toff David Mellor over his outrageous, pompous and disgraceful tirade.

His sneering and snobbish verbal assault says it all about the elite and their attitude to the working classes.
