Lil Nas X has had a busy week - first he dropped some controversial sneakers with a drop of human blood inside every shoe.

That led to Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota fanning a new satanic panic, saying, “We are in a fight for the soul of our nation.”

Then, on Friday afternoon, he promised some of his fans cash gifts if they showed some love for his new song.

He tweeted: “Drop a screenshot of you listening to montero and your cashapp name.”

Fans instantly flooded his feed with screenshots of the song playing, GIFs, and catchy phrases in the hope of receiving digital payments from the star.

One person sent their mother’s Cash App for Nas to send payment on, to which he replied with, “Oh my god this is so sweet! sent.”

Scroll through his feed and you’ll see at least a dozen responses to fans who shared screenshots of his latest track playing on their phone - the simple one word reply: ‘Sent’ along with a bow-and-arrow and a heart.

Some others responded to the thread not in the hopes of funds, but instead to show some love to their favorite star.

Additionally, Nas dropped a website called Thebookofmontero.com, which gives people the opportunity to put their name into a system to receive a “MONTERO” song lyric, followed by the time stamp in the song.

What’s next in store for one of the most creative celebrities around? We can’t wait to find out.
