Kim Kardashian / Instagram
Anyone who has been “keeping up” with the Kardashians knows that the relationship between Caitlyn Jenner and the Kardashian clan has become strained in recent years.
When Jenner first announced her transition in spring of 2015, Kim Kardashian and the rest of her family were supportive.
But after Jenner wrote a tell-all memoir, entitled The Secrets of My Life, things quickly went downhill. Statements about the Kardashians, including Kim’s late father Robert, as well as her mother and Caitlyn’s ex-wife Kris Jenner, were not well received.
Last November, Caitlyn confirmed that she and Kim had not spoken in a year.
Meanwhile, Kim called Caitlyn a “liar” and “not a good person” on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
So when Kim took to Instagram on Friday to post a throwback picture, which included a picture of Caitlyn when she was known as Bruce, people were unsure of how to react.
Some Instagram users questioned Kim's motives, suspecting that the picture was meant as a dig.
Others complained that posting a picture like this was disrespectful to Caitlyn, who now lives openly as a woman.
But some users perceived this as a sign that the family may finally be ready to reconcile.
We don’t know what Caitlyn thinks of the picture, but if you know someone who is trans, it is always best to ask them before posting throwback pictures to ensure that you don't cause them distress.
