Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian West were photographed holding hands and it’s fair to say this unexpected news wasn’t on anyone’s 2021 bingo card.

The pair were spotted at Knott’s Scary Farms in Buena Park, California during the Halloween weekend, PEOPLE reported.

Photographs reveal the two hold hands and screaming while on a rollercoaster with friends. They were also accompanied by Kim’s sister Kourtney Kardashian and her fiancé Travis Barker.

“They hang in the same circles so they will be together from time to time,” an insider told PEOPLE. “It’s just friends hanging out.”

Travis and Pete are mutual friends through singer/rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

Kim is currently in the process of divorcing her husband Kanye West, while Pete split from ex-girlfriend Phoebe Dynevor in August - so the two are single...

Despite the source extinguishing any rumours of romance, the internet can’t quite believe what they’re seeing.

Given Pete’s previous relationships with Cazzie David, Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, Kaia Gerber and Phoebe Dynevor, and his brief engagement to Ariana Grande in 2018, people couldn’t help but comment on Kim Kardashian West being the latest celebrity he’s been linked to (and his game).

Though the hand-holding reports haven’t come as a shock for some people after they predicted that the pair would start dating after seeing the two together on SNL when Kim was a guest star last month.

The sketch that got everyone talking was where Kim played Princess Jasmine and Pete played Aladdin and the two shared a kiss.

Although the sighting may have taken people by surprise, many have said that they like the idea of the two getting together.

Meanwhile, others couldn’t help but joke that Kim could be entering her “punk era” if she is really dating Pete and also noted how she would be following in her sister Kourtney’s footsteps who is dating Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Kardashian spotted reaction without there being a reference to momager Kris.

While everyone is talking about Kim and Pete, others have noted someone else is actually the real star of the photo...

It’s not the first time Pete and Kim have hung out, as the comedian told Jimmy Fallon back in 2019 that he got stuck paying a pricey bill from his dinner with Kim and Kanye, along with Timothee Chalmet, Kid Cudi.

He was at Nobu with them to celebrate Kid Cudi’s 35th birthday and Pete ended up with the bill at restaurant Nobu because he thought it would just be him and the musician attending.

“I got there a little early so I could give them my card,” Davidson told Fallon. “I thought it was just, like, us three.”

So the 27-year-old was surprised when Kim and Kanye rocked up, and added: “So they come by, and we’re outside. And Kanye goes, ‘Let’s get the special room, in the back.’ And I was like, oh no.”

"So we're sitting there, and I was texting my touring agent, like, 'Yo, we gotta book more shows. Shit's getting real over here,' he joked to Jimmy.

Pete said Kanye then told the waiter: "I want that stuff that's not even on the menu. That CRAZY stuff."

In the end, the bill luckily wasn’t as bad as the comedian thought: “[The bill] actually wasn’t as bad as you would think, but it’s not like it’s Applebee’s,” he explained. “It’s Nobu, which is like 77 Applebee’s.”

This anecdote has left someone on Twitter to joke that Pete is getting his own back on Kanye for leaving him to pay the bill.
