The work of Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore has not impressed Turkey’s tourist board, which has dropped her from a costly advertising campaign and criticised her “poor acting”.
Moore was announced as the face of Turkey’s tourism push last year and filmed an advert in Hollywood, but after seeing the material, officials demanded it be reshot. When Moore refused, the entire $4m project was shelved.
The ministry declined to comment but insiders at the tourism board told Hürriyet Daily News that the much-heralded campaign had been dropped because of Moore’s “poor acting”.
