Most people who woke up on Friday morning in the UK would have done so in a state of shock. Those who backed Remain feeling despondent, while those backing Leave left jubilant.
This most unexpected of wins for the Eurosceptics plunged Westminster and the City into chaos as Nigel Farage hailed Brexit as a "victory for decent people".
Not everyone was so pleased with the result though. Among the most outspoken 'In' campaigners has been JK Rowling.
The Harry Potter author perhaps summed up best how most Remainers must be feeling now:
