Stevie Nicks is considering leaving the US if Donald Trump wins re-election.
In fact, she’s even said that she might leave earth.
Speaking to Variety magazine, she said: “I don’t want to live in a country that is so divisive. If this starts over and there’s another four years of this, then I’m going – but we’re not welcome anywhere.”
She continued: “So where can I go? And I’m thinking: Oh, space.”
Nicks explained:
Maybe I can talk Elon Musk into giving us a jet and letting me pick 50 people, and we’re like the arc, and someone can take us and let us live on another planet until the next four years are over.
The Fleetwood Mac rocker spoke in her interview about how unhappy she is with the state of America at the moment.
She explained how “racism in the last four years is worse than it was” and how she “fought for Roe v Wade”.
The latter is likely to refer to renewed fears that the critical pro-choice decision might once again become a legal battle if Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed to the Supreme Court.
Throughout the interview, Nicks was careful not to refer to Trump by name.
She also wants people to know that her new song, ‘Show Them The Way’, is “non-partisan”.
It features Black Lives Matter protests, civil rights marches and pays homage to Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
She said that she hopes her song is a “moment of peace for everyone” and is not intended to appeal solely to Democrats.
