Taking time out from offering his latest insights into the global terror threat and Britain's position in the European Union ahead of the referendum, Nigel Farage decided to dabble in a spot of horse racing on Saturday.
Taking to Twitter, Farage told his followers to back the (very topical) Exit Europe, owned and trained by Ukip's very own party treasurer Andrew Reid, in the 13.25 at Lingfield.
Sadly for punters who followed his advice, Exit Europe, despite starting as the overwhelming favourite (11/10), much like Farage in Thanet South, couldn't manage the win.
However, unlike Farage, who managed to finish second in the election, the horse only came third after reportedly being injured halfway through the race.
As someone noted on Twitter in reference to the EU referendum, how very prophetic.
