Ed Miliband clashes with Myleene Klass: What you need to know

Move over David Cameron, Ed Miliband has come up against his toughest adversary yet: former Hear'Say singer Myleene Klass.

During an appearance on late night topical ITV show The Agenda, Klass confronted Miliband over his mansion tax policy, in which under a Labour government those who own properties worth between £2-3 million would pay around £250 per month extra in tax.

For me, it's so disturbing - the name in its own right: 'mansion tax'. Immediately you conjure up an image of these Barbie-esque houses, but in London, which is where 80 per cent of the people who will be paying this tax actually live, have you seen what that amount of money can get you? It's like a garage.

This, by the way, is one such property you can get for £2 million in London.

And another which actually has a garage:

And another, also with garage:

Klass said that she believed the tax would only affect "grannies" who had lived in million-pound houses for years and years rather than the "super super rich" who had access to better accountants.

When Miliband said the tax was necessary to help fund the NHS, she said: "You might as well tax me on this glass of water. You can’t just point at things and tax them. You need to have a better strategy."

She pressed: "How much are you actually going to make from this?"

But others applauded her for putting Miliband on the spot over the details of the policy.

She was even compared to Jeremy Paxman.

But can you imagine Paxman doing this after an episode of Newsnight?
