This emergency room doctor is informing people Donald Trump is president and documenting their reactions

President of the United States, Donald Trump.

This statement still induces a shiver of horror amongst liberals.

But imagine learning of his presidency, coming to terms with it and then forgetting.

And then being forced to remember.

Emergency physician Jeremy Faust is a doctor who is forcing his patients to remember.

Part of Faust’s job, he writes for Slate, is to ensure his patients have all their faculties post-operation.

He does this by asking four questions:

• What is your name?
• Where are we?
• What is the date?
• Who is the President of the United States?

Patients don’t always guess the last one correctly.

Here are some of the more colour reactions from patients upon learning of Donald Trump's presidency:

One elderly woman let out a startling moan.

...and...

Really? Come on, doc, you’re shaking my leg.

...and...

One patient accused me of playing a trick.

...then there's this gem, too:

Wow. I voted for him, but he didn’t really win, did he? That’s really something.

Others demonstrated being completely out of touch with contemporary politics.

One man guessed the president to be “Bush”.
