Just when you thought Donald Trump had run out of people to insult, the presidential hopeful has done it again.
The property mogul, who is still somehow the frontrunner for 2016's Republican presidential nomination, was speaking at a campaign event in New Hampshire on Monday when he was asked about American intervention overseas.
Trump kicked off by insulting the Muslim world in general by saying "they don't want freedom", but went on to make a pretty salient point about the value of self determination.
Waving his hand over his face to indicate the facial veils like burqas and niqabs worn by some Muslim women, Trump said:
I saw somebody say, ‘We wanted where the women don’t have to wear the 'you-know-what’... And then I saw women interviewed, they said, 'We want to wear them, we’ve worn them for a thousand years. Why would anyone tell us not to?’ They want to!
But of course, rather than just leaving it at that, the Donald had to go and Trump it all up by saying face veils are great because they mean women don't have to worry about make up.
Fact is, it’s easier... You don’t have to put on makeup. Look how beautiful everyone looks. Wouldn’t it be easier? Right? Wouldn’t that be easy?
I tell ya, if I was a woman, I’d be like [waves hand over face], ‘I’m ready, darling, let’s go.’ It’s true!
The GOP will vote on its candidate for president in July 2016.
That's just nine more months.
