People think they have a new theory about Donald Trump's speech style

Donald Trump having false teeth is probably not a conspiracy theory. The man is 71, it's highly likely he's had some dental work done.

The President on Wednesday reversed decades of US foreign policy by recognising Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

He told the assembled media he was directing the US state department to begin preparations to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem:

I've judged this course of action to be in the best interests of the United States of America and the pursuit of peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

The decision, at odds with the stance of the international community, was widely condemned by US allies such as French President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Theresa May said she disagreed with the decision and said it was:

unhelpful in terms of prospects for peace in the region.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was delighted, saying Trump had:

bound himself forever with the history of the capital.

Aside from the foreign policy earthquake, Trump's speech also received attention for a much more trivial reason.

A clip of his speech has been widely shared as it appears to show him slurring towards the end of his remarks. Many speculated that this was caused by his dentures becoming loose:

Trump's teeth have been the subject of scrutiny before. The Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry suggested it was likely he got porcelain veneers, given the change in the whiteness of his teeth over the years.
