Today marks International Women's Day - an important event highlighting the ongoing battle for gender equality around the globe.
To mark this most important of days, former property tycoon and steak salesman, now current President of the United States, Donald Trump tweeted the following:
I have tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vital to the fabric of our society and our economy.
This, anyone would agree, is a positive sentiment for the leader of the free world to exhibit. It shows respect and also celebrates women in all walks of life.
It would have been the perfect thing to say on International Women's Day had it not been for Mr Trump's apalling history when it comes to disrespecting women.
From the infamous "grab them by the pu**y" scandal to calling CNN's Megyn Kelly a "bimbo", Donald Trump has been frequently disrespectful to women in very public settings.
After reading his latest tweet detailing his alleged "tremendous respect for women," the good people of Twitter were quick to remind him of this.
Many users referred to the time he bragged to Billy Bush of Access Hollywood about being allowed to "grab women by the pu**y".
Other's simply couldn't believe he was attempting to convince the world of his "respect".
