Given his policy proposal to deport millions of immigrants, to build a wall along the Mexican border and his history of unpalatable comments about the LGBTQ+ community, you'd be forgiven for raising an eyebrow towards anyone suggesting Donald Trump were anything but a far-right Republican.
Andy Cohen is an American talk show and radio host, perhaps most famous for hosting Watch What Happens: Live.
During a panel at 92Y in New York he was asked what he would say if he could talk to President-elect Donald Trump.
As a gay man, Cohen cited among other points of complaint: his selection of Mike Pence as Vice President:
I would say, ‘I know you want to live in your gold-leaf tower but please don’t, you’re going to f–k up traffic.’ I’d also say that ‘you have the most anti-gay Vice President ever, and I’ve been around you . . . I know you don’t really feel that way, so you can’t let that infect you.’
Then, most puzzlingly:
I think he’s a Democrat, actually.

To Andy Cohen's credit, Donald Trump was a Democrat between 2001 and 2008, before endorsing Republican John McCain and officially changing his party registration to Republican.
However, he ran as the Republican Presidential candidate.
Cohen has recently been critical of the President-elect on Twitter:
