Let’s just say that Demi Lovato probably had a more interesting weekend than most people.
While you might have spent your days off stuck at home or on a socially distanced walk, the singer headed to the California desert to meditate and spot some aliens.
Yes, aliens.
In an Instagram post shared last week, Lovato wrote that she spent a few days on a retreat in Joshua Tree with her friends and Dr. Steven Greer, who is “one of the world’s foremost authorities” on UFOs and extraterrestrial life, according to his Instagram bio.
He has also developed an app called CE5 which supposedly allows users to make contact with aliens. (Meeting aliens isn’t free though, the app is £9.99.)
The singer's UFO encounter comes shortly after her very public split with ex-fiancé, Max Erich.
In Lovato’s post, she writes about finding “peace and serenity” in her alien spotting retreat:
Over the past couple months I have dug deep into the science of consciousness and experienced not only peace and serenity like I’ve never known but I also have witnessed the most incredibly profound sightings both in the sky as well as feet away from me.
She goes on to say that the “planet is on a very negative path towards destruction” unless everyone starts meditating. If just 1% of the population meditates, she says, then the government will be forced to “acknowledge the truth about extraterrestrial life among us and change our destructive habits destroying our planet.”
Her post is accompanied by a series of photos and videos of unidentified bright lights in the sky. She doesn’t explain how meditating will save the planet but, good for her!
We’re not one to judge, but Lovato’s fans had thoughts. “Yes girl, open that third eye,” one supportive fan commented.
Others were more confused. “Oh baby, I just want an album,” another comment read.
Well, that's one way to get over a break up.
