Controversial MMA fighter Conor McGregor is making headlines again with yet another spat – this time with rapper Machine Gun Kelly on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet on Sunday.

MGK, real name Colson Baker, was one of many music stars who performed at the New York City event, and later took home the award for Best Alternative Video for his track “My Ex’s Best Friend” with Blackbear.

According to TMZ, the altercation started after McGregor went over to MGK – who attended the event with girlfriend and model Megan Fox - to say hello and to ask for a photo.

He was then reportedly pushed aside, before throwing his drink at the couple, in footage which has since gone viral online.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight after the altercation, McGregor claimed he “[doesn’t] even know the guy” and that “I only fight real fighters”.

“I certainly don’t fight little Vanilla Ice white rappers. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”

MGK, meanwhile, didn’t want to talk about the squabble, as he was filmed letting out a short laugh and knocking away a microphone when he was asked about the incident by Variety.

Whatever happened, Twitter users are torn over McGregor’s actions:

Criticism has also been thrown Baker’s way for his response to the scuffle:

The red carpet spat is the latest altercation involving McGregor, who is currently recovering from a leg break during his last UFC fight with Dustin Poirier in July.
