Cher took a picture of a young couple at a movie theatre because she thought they were “beautiful”, but they didn’t realise it was her.

The iconic singer and actress took to Twitter to share the picture she snapped of the couple with her 3.9 million followers.

She wrote that when she was coming out of a movie, she spotted the couple. The man was taking a picture of the woman, who was holding a bouquet of flowers, so Cher asked if they would like one together.

“Had my mask on so they didn’t Know Who I was. MAYBE Just a crazy woman..THAT ME [sic],” she wrote.

She added: “See how adorable they are”.

Unbelievably, the young woman in the picture replied.

Syndie wrote: “Omg! That’s me, and it was my birthday! Wow! I can’t believe it!”

Her partner Tehran also replied to say: “Wow! So we really did meet CHER! This night will certainly be remembered forever.”

Syndie quipped back: “If only we could ‘turn back time’.”

When asked why she didn’t recognise Cher’s voice, Syndie said that she had her mask on and was far away from them when she asked to take the snap.

Poking fun at people who complained that the couple didn’t recognise Cher right away, one Twitter user remarked: “She didn’t go hooooohooo curn ahe take yur pictuure whoahhhh?”

Another joked: “She was like hey can i take your pic btw do you believe in life after love?”

Fans enjoyed the encounter, with some seeming a little jealous that Syndie and her partner got to meet such an icon:
