Cardi B goes wild after discovering that the star of ‘You’ knows who she is

We all have our fangirl moments and it seems even Cardi B is no exception after she shared her shock at discovering You star Penn Badgley knows who she is.

In a resurfaced clip, the lead actor in the hit Netflix series mentioned the 29-year-old during a press interview back when he was promoting the first season of the show and went on to applaud how “incredibly authentic” she is on social media.

“Cardi B is just a great example. She has such an authentic relationship. And to me, it’s this nuanced place to be,” Badgely said.

He added: “Despite what many might judge as ‘antics’ and all this, I feel like she has an incredibly authentic relationship to [social media]. And I think that’s why people like her so much.”

A fan of the WAP rapper then reshared the clip to let people know that Badgely is a “Cardi B stan.”

They tweeted: “Penn Badgley aka Joe Goldberg of #YOUSEASON3 is a Cardi B stan never forget.”

It seems the tweet was brought to Cardi’s attention as she then retweeted and couldn’t hold back her excitement at the fact Badgely knows who she is - while she also hilariously commented on how famous this makes her.

She tweeted: “OOOOMMFFFGGGGGG HE KNOWS ME !!!OMMMGGGG!!!!!! Yoooo like I’m famous famous.”

Since sharing her elation, Cardi’s tweet has been liked over 130,000 times, with fans loving her fangirl moment.

Badgely himself seemed to be taken aback that Cardi is a fan of his work, and in response to her tweet about him, he was lost for words.

The You and Gossip Girl star then changed his Twitter profile picture to Cardi which elicited a funny response from the rapper.

She mentioned Badgely’s handle and shared a video of a young child pointing and questioning - “Is that me?”

In a comical twist, Cardi joined Badgely in changing her Twitter profile picture to him (or rather his character, Joe) and thus christening their new celebrity friendship.

Meanwhile, rapper’s fans shared some hilarious responses to Cardi’s delight.

Some joked about Badgley’s Cardi reference by invoking the voice of the 34-year-old’s murdering stalker character, Joe Goldberg, and they also warned Cardi’s husband Offset that he might be in trouble.

Elsewhere, others jokingly warned that Badgley’s love interest on the show Love Quinn (played by Victoria Pedretti) will come after her.

In other news, You has been renewed for a fourth season - so perhaps we could get a Cardi cameo?

Fans of the two celebrities are already calling on this to happen.
