Remember Kyemah McEntyre?
The 18-year-old artist created her own beautiful prom dress last month to hit back at bullies and embrace her "African descent" rather than "European ideals and standards of beauty", winning the adoration of the internet in the process.
One of her new fans was Naturi Naughton, star of the US drama Power - and she loved McEntyre's design so much she asked the teenager to design her red carpet outfit for the BET awards in Los Angeles last weekend.
When Naughton looked up the bullied girl, who ended up being crowed prom queen, she found that they shared the home town of East Orange, New Jersey.
"That was an automatic connection," Naughton told Cosmopolitan.
Working with a local seamstress McEntyre took Naughton's ideas and managed to create the beautiful dress, doing fittings at Naughton's home, in less than a week.
McEntyre said watching Naughton wear her design on the red carpet on TV at home was surreal. The dress was a hit at the event and on social media, where one picture of Naughton got more than 9,000 likes.
McEntyre is planning on studying design when she starts university in the autumn and Naughton is planning on commissioning more work from her.
"This girl is an artist," Naughton said. "She has a vision."
