Blake Shelton is 2017's Sexiest Man Alive and people have very mixed feelings

You might have already seen that Blake Shelton has been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive this year.

He's the boyfriend of Gwen Stefani, country singer and judge on NBC's The Voice - not that we're suggesting you don't know know who he is.

Well, Shelton has now joined a whole host of hot winners including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Channing Tatum, George Clooney and Chris Hemsworth.

Twitter just didn't get it. At all.

Some mean things were said.

The more paranoid among us even linked his win to some kind of strange Trumpian curse.

And there were a lot of disgruntled Idris Elba fans out there.

But Shelton did have a bit of support beyond just the people of People magazine.

Though mainly the mood was that of complete bafflement.
