It seems that Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez has an extra seat available at the table.
Ever since he and Jennifer Lopez called off their four-year relationship and engagement over alleged cheating, Rodriguez seems to be doing his best to win back musical artist Jennifer Lopez.
In April, A-Rod took to his Instagram story to show a series of framed photos on a table of J-Lo with a Coldplay track playing softly in the background.
Now, it seems as if he’s still feeling the same way as he sits at a dinner table with his daughters and three extra table settings.
He took to his Instagram to post what appears to be a normal family dinner with his two daughters Elle and Natasha and three empty plates.
“Din din with my girls! #DaddyDinnerDate 💜💚,” Rodriguez’s caption read as they sat around an assortment of asparagus, meat skewers, mash potatoes, and a salad.
Theoretically speaking, the three empty plates could be for Lopez and her two children, son Max and daughter Emme.
People did notice this and took the comments to address it.
“This makes me sad. The 3 empty plates..JLO, max and Emme 😢
“Aww and the have 3 additional place setting I’m wonder who that’s for..❤️❤️,” another commenter wrote.
Despite the sweet moment of A-Rod and his daughters eating together, it appears to come after the baseball star was said to be taken aback by Lopez’s meetup in Montana with ex-fiance Ben Affleck, as first reported on Page Six.
Affleck and Lopez were engaged in 2002 but ultimately called it quits in 2004.
A Lopez source told E! News that Rodriguez believed they could make the relationship work and get back together, saying, “He has been reaching out to J.Lo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him.”
Page Six, who was the first outlet to exclusively noted Affleck and Lopez’s reunion, reports that a paparazzo asked Rodriguez about Lopez and Affleck’s trip but refrained from giving the answer people are eager to know.
“Go Yankees,” A-Rod said.
Welp, you never know what the future may hold. There might still be a chance at rekindling things.
