A homophobe picked a fight with a military-trained gay couple and lived to regret it

Karma was a swift and exacting mistress for one violent homophobe in New York this weekend.

Larry Lennox-Choate III and his husband Daniel Lennox-Choate, both graduates of the prestigious West Point military academy, were shopping in downtown Manhattan on Sunday when a man they didn't know started spewing abuse at them.

In a post on Facebook, Larry wrote that the man had "screamed anti-gay obscenities at us" before throwing a punch at Daniel.

However - Larry stepped in to defend his partner and the man left the scene "covered in his own blood" after Larry "tossed him in the street like the coward loser he is":

It's hard to believe that in 2015 we would have to deal with anti-gay hate crimes in soho of all places but that's what...

Apart from a sore punching arm and a bruised lip, Larry noted, the couple were fine. He added:

We refuse to be victims and are thankful we can defend ourselves, but are saddened by the fact that idiots like this guy might not pick two guys who went through Plebe Boxing next time.

Larry and Daniel met at the West Point military university, from which Larry graduated in 2005 and Daniel two years later. They were the first same-sex couple to get hitched at their alma mater, trying the knot in 2013.

According to the New York Daily News, no arrests have been made but the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
