Gay people around the world have very different experiences relating to how they're treated.
Discrimination, worker's rights, public opinion, marriage legislation and even the death penalty just for being gay, are some of the major factors that contribute towards the gay community's well-being and ultimate happiness.
Naturally, because of different laws and attitudes, the treatment of the gay community differs from country to country.
The gay happiness index is the first ever worldwide ranking of its kind, and is based on the opinions of 115,000 gay men.
Planet Romeo collected the data by combining public opinion, public behaviour, and life satisfaction.
Here are the top ten countries according to the happiness of gay men:
- Iceland
- Norway
- Denmark
- Sweden
- Uruguay
- Canada
- Israel
- Netherlands
- Switzerland
- LuxembourgÂ
Uganda and Sudan ranked the lowest, with Ethiopia and Kyrgyzstan coming in joint second-to-last.
